Dog breeds in general have similar characteristics. Some breeds of dogs are more likely to kill than others and some breeds are more protective of their masters and physics surrounding others. There was a 20-years study to determine which breeds of dogs are more likely to kill people humans. This study on the States America was made for the years 1979 to 1998.
This study tested 238 human deaths caused by dog attacks for a period of 20 years. 24% of these attacks involved unrestricted dogs outside their owners. 58% of the victims had abandoned dogs returned to their owners. About 17% of dogs involved retained their owners and less than 1% of cases, a dog kept outside landowners. Some of the study's findings are not surprising. Yes, some breeds are more prone to commit suicide than others. Yes, deaths from dog attacks are very rare. Also it is sometimes difficult to determine the actual breed of dog. Communities that deal with the prohibition specific breeds of dogs for public safety will be difficult to define the parameters of what constitutes that breed. There are several factors that interact with the dog to improve the possibility of a human being attacked by a dog outside the dog's breed. These factors include heredity, gender, experience early socialization, training, health reprodcutive status, quality of ownership and the victim behavior. In addition, this study has not intervened variables as the dog was protecting its owner from harm death or serious or was really the dog protection against serious harm or death. Men are 6.2 times more likely to bite dogs. Sexually intact dogs, both men and women are 2.6 times more likely to bite than neutered dogs and chained dogs are 2.8 times more likely to bite then dogs chains. A surprising conclusion of several studies is that many varieties of dogs have been involved in an attack against the man for one reason or another. Headlining List of deaths by dogs during a period of twenty years is the Pit Bull and Pit Bull mix of 66 human deaths. The Rottweiler and Rottweiler mix was responsible for 39 deaths human. The German Shepherd dog and mix were responsible for 17 human deaths. The Husky type dog was responsible for 15 human deaths as was the Malamute responsible for 12 deaths human. The Chow Chow was responsible for 8 deaths while the Doberman was responsible for 9 deaths rights. St. Bernard was responsible for 7 deaths of man and also the Great Dane was responsible for 7 deaths. Akita killed 4 people, 2 the Bulldog, the Mastiff 2, the Boxer 2 and believe it or not the Labrador Retriever was responsible for 1 death in the laboratory mixing were responsible for 4 deaths. The following dogs were responsible for the murder of a human each during these twenty years: The Bullmastiff, Chesapeake Bay Retriever, West Highland Terrier Japanese Hunting Dog, Newfoundland, Coonhound, Sheepdog, Rhodesian Ridgeback and Cocker Spaniel. The conclusion to make of this study is that almost any dog size can be dangerous, especially for children. Dogs must be trained, under supervision, and be careful when choosing a race with propensity to be aggressive. Most importantly, keep children away from male, sexually intact, chained dogs. Dogs can’t digest corn and it has petroliem products in it, as in the same stuff they make gasoline out of. Dogs can live 20 or more years, but they don’t because the food they eat slowly poisions them. Any way sorry to go off on a tangent, I just passionate about taking car of our dogs the right way.
