The award-winning children's book Hachiko Waits has inspired me to learn more about Akitas.

I just finished reading Hachiko Waits by Leslee Newman wrote and illustrated by Machiya Kodaira. I admit I'm a fool for a fairy animal warm heart, and the story of Hachiko, the Akita Japanese famous both broke my heart, and I raised.

Hachiko Waits is a book based on the facts from fiction and award-winning children's book based on a story true source of inspiration. In January 1924, a Japanese professor Ueno approved a period of three months, the little puppy Akita named Hachiko it. The teacher takes the train to work every day, and soon, Hachiko began to accompany him to the station to return home when the train left, and return each evening, just before three in the afternoon to meet his master.

One day the professor died suddenly at work, and every day for ten years until his death, Hachiko waited again. Over the years, many Japanese have come to know and love Hachiko and was treated until his death at a ripe old age of natural causes. The faithful dog died truly a day of waiting at the station for his master. The people of Japan have been so impressed by the loyalty of Hachiko's who have erected a statue in his honor and places in Shibuya station. The money was raised and an artist named Ando was hired in 1934 and died just before Hachiko, held a ceremony to dedicate the statue.

After reading this story, became more interested in this beautiful breed. My only experience with Akitas had been with Emma, a local dog, who recently died of old age. Emma and her owner was to run into me and my Chow mix, Beardog on field trips. Its owner was over six feet and a strong man, who had to use all its force when the deer or Emma decided she needed to shoot his head. I learned that Akita is unique in its ability to stand and opponents are strong and formidable box fighters, if necessary, and faithful to his people.

A day in the park, Emma stood on his hind legs and the back of a couple of dogs that were aggressive with Beardog. The faithful Emma decided it was his plate and stood up for us. It was a great and beautiful dog that needs an owner can keep and love and discipline. I realized that it was simply not always going to have the privilege to hold an Akita dog – 50 pounds My MIX Chow has all my might.
