You can not feed a Great Dane to any dog food. If you do, you're probably headed for trouble. Like a dog breed Giant Great Dane, have unique needs and if you do not provide adequate food and the right portions, veterinary bills can be much more than money can be saved by eating supermarket brand of garbage.

Great Dane dog food should be quality stuff. Do not put a Dane, if you are willing to offer this quality. Here are some tips to ensure that adequately feed your Dane.

Never feed puppy food – even though the Dane is a puppy. Great Dane puppy food should be a formula for adults. The formulas for puppies are much richer in protein and sustain rapid growth. You do not want – you want your Dane to grow slowly and stay slim. This is very important – too many fans Dane allow their animals to a rapid growth that can cause all sorts of medical problems later. Humans get 18 years to reach 150 pounds. Your Great Dane is a little over 2!

Use a good formula for adults, first and make sure that it is never more than 23% protein. There are several quality brands of processed foods dog will do, but you should be able to identify those who remain Dane sound of which will not.

You will not find an appropriate marking of processed foods in supermarkets. They do not use acceptable brands – like garbage. You need a formula that is not based grain, soybeans and contains quality protein. Packaging regulations requires companies to list ingredients in order of quantity. If you see one of the products of the first ingredient, has no nutritional value whatsoever. A food containing dog meat and genuine good will that this be the first ingredients on the list.

Again, there are many brands available that are developed in the giant – but you must go to a pet store and choose the specialty. Remember, good ingredients, less than 23% of protein and fat between 10 and 14%.

We recommend using a quality of processed foods, at least for the first year for ensure the right proportion of food ingredients (which is so essential in this phase of rapid growth), but raw is another option available to feed a Great Dane. A raw diet is not so difficult to provide once the hang of it and it is more expensive than a premium food processing. Many owners swear Dane for her.

There are all sorts of raw food recipes you can follow the time that the proportion of the main ingredients is followed in time. The relationship between bone and the flesh is of particular importance and the best way to ensure you get this right is the use of raw poultry meat bone as a basis for all meals. We feed 75% of beef and chicken bones, offal 10% and 15% vegetables. Also, sprinkle with a bit of algae in the mixture (the most beneficial supplement for singles) and once a week, fish is on the menu. Sometimes ground beef is also served.

The amount of food they serve depends on your dog, your activity level is, and of course, age. If you use a feed processed foods, follow the recommended amounts on the package to the weight of your dog until you get an idea of what is right.
