The Bloodhound.Exploit.196 is a persistent virus that has frustrated computer users for some time. There are many variation of this virus and you can find the mention of this virus on many Internet forums that many users are not able to delete this virus properly. The virus can be deleted by many antivirus software but often it is able to retain a copy of its files which will later resurface after your first deletion.

This virus is actually a virus that exploits the security vulnerabilities of Adobe Acrobat and Reader. It uses the vulnerability to create a connection for an external person or system to infiltrate and download information from your computer. This can be your address book or financial information. The more sinister purpose for breaking into your system would be to install even more malwares so that the hacker can use your computer as a slave to break into more computers or as a slave computer in their DOS attacks.

When it first came out, the bloodhound was a difficult virus to remove, as most of the popular antivirus software had not updated their virus definitions yet. There were several removal services for this virus then but as of now, the typical antivirus like AVG, Kapersky, McAfee etc will be sufficient to remove the virus. Whichever antivirus you choose, you will just need to ensure that the infected files are totally removed and that the bloodhound 196 processes are no longer running in your memory.

You should first quarantine or delete any files that have been infected by the Bloodhound.196.exploit virus, by using your antivirus software. This should ideally be done after you restart your computer in the safemode environment which will allow you to perform a better clean.

After deleting the files, your system may still be infected. Check your task manager by clicking CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open up the Windows Task Manager and then click on the “Processes” tab. This will let you see any processes that are running and you should end any process that have the term bloodhound in it. Just right-click on the process and then click end process. This would clear all the bloodhound 196 processes in your system memory.

Next, you will need to remove all the Bloodhound exploit 196 processes that are still running in your computer’s memory. These are likely to be triggered by your infected files in your startup folder, which we will get to later. Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open up the Windows Task Manager and then click on the “Processes” tab and search for Bloodhound. Any processes with the term “bloodhound” must be ended by right-clicking on the process and then clicking the “End Process” key. By now, we would have cleared up any Bloodhound Exploit 196 processes running in the system memory.

We will then proceed to clean up the registry. fire up the Windows Registry Editor by keying “regedit” in your “Run” box at the Windows Start button. Search for the registry key “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Bloodhound.Exploit.196.”

Delete this key and also proceed to search for similar keys and then delete all of those values or keys with references to bloodhound. You should also proceed to delete the files in your temporary Internet folder so as to be rid of any possible infected files that were not fixed by your antivirus tool. The other folders you should check is the startup folder, if you do see bloodhound as one of the process, please delete it.

Your system should be solved by now and you should prevent future occurrence by installing a good antivirus protection software.
