Great Dane health problem.?

We just had a Great Dane puppy (6 weeks) to join our family. This is a very healthy puppy and happy. However, whenever I hear it's very common for the Great Danes to have joint problems and hip when they get older. What can I do as soon as he is a puppy to help prevent these serious health problems as it grows?
