Buying a family dog is a fun adventure for all concerned, but also something that should be taken seriously, because there are several important factors considered first. Instead of choosing the prettiest dog, or one with sad puppy dog eyes, think about whether or not his family and to add new all can live day by day securely together in harmony.

Although many breeds of dogs enjoy being around children, the provision of a dog and the tolerance level can depend largely on its origin and how they have been socialized as a puppy. Some breeds are known for being patient and kind nature, and therefore are ideal for household pets with children.

The best breeds for homes with children

Boxers are more playful and patient with children and seem to know they should be more gentle around small children. Bulldogs also learn to tolerate the ear biting and accidental falls that children may leave, but usually only in the field if you have more patience instead of putting her like a boxer who probably do.

The Beagle is another race known affable for his love of children, young and old. With a playful, even temperament and a lot of patience, lighter may be the darling of the ideal family, however, these gentle dogs tend to be a little stubborn.

Despite its huge size, the large Mastiff and its territorial nature are another good race to see if you have children at home. Precautions must be taken to ensure Great Dane is not non-accidental child or infant, of course, and this particular race has a tendency to over-sometimes.

Despite a stellar quality, for being too protective of children can be problematic when it comes to discipline as the Mastiff may want to intervene and "protect" their children.

One of the best breeds of large dogs to be absolute about children is the Newfoundland. A "Newfie" protect his office at any price, pushing them to safety and to remain tolerant of infant mortality or behavior typical child. Babies crawl at the top of the heart newfs, play like your heart's content without fear of being scolded or cracked, and when the gentle giant has had enough, simply go away, but always keep a watchful eye for signs of imminent danger.

San Bernardo and other mountain dogs as Great Swiss Mountain dogs are also ideal for homes with children, despite its huge size and fierce fighting capacity, and are very loving and patient with their dogs, including small children.

The family dogs like the Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever and Chesapeake Bay are also great with the children and pets.

Standard poodles and miniature poodles large are generally good with children, but the toy version of the race is not adequate for a household with children, are known to have very little patience with the little people.

Remember that young children can be very confusing for a dog that never seen anyone that big before so it may take some time to acclimate to his new pet to your environment. As with any other status, race, size or age of the dog, do not let children and dogs unattended for any length of time, not just for the sake of the child but for the safety of the dog.
