Shiba Inu Puppy

Shiba Inu is a breed of domestic dogs that draw their ancestry from Japan. Shiba Inu puppies are what the Japanese use to refer to a dog, while Shiba is a type of brushwood, thus many are made to believe that while naming it, they had this in mind. These puppies are also the smallest of all the six original Japanese breeds.

Shiba Inu Characteristics

The main characteristic is its small size, and it is very agile. It is able to cope with rough and mountainous terrains very well, and the original breed was used for hunting. They resemble another breed of dog called Akita but are by far smaller in size. It marks the world as a member of the few remaining ancient dog breeds in the world. Since it is so rare, it has a high market demand.

Color

The color that is most usual with this kind of breed is red, but some can also be red, have a cream undercoat or one that is gray.

If they come out as cream, the breeders consider it to be a major fault; because there are color markings that any canine should have that will not be visible. The markings should be on the muzzle and cheeks, also in the upper throat and inside the ears of the dog.

A triangular mark is found on those that are black or sesame, on the fore chest, and both sides of it. These puppies are also considered to be intelligent and generally with a sense of independence, like many other ancient breeds of dog.

They have a very strong drive for prey, and should in most times be on a leash to avoid them going out after what they consider to be prey. It can be quite a difficult thing to train the dog to be obedient to its owner because of its independent nature.

Conclusion

Just like any other dog, the Shiba Inu puppies should be trained at an early age and also made to socialize with its owners. There are times when they show some kind of aggression towards it handles, but it is mainly a factor in the female ones. This is because of that strong prey drive that we talked about earlier.
